Can You Still Profit From Selling E-books on eBay?
E-books are a fantastic way to disseminate information. They are digital documents that are often created as Adobe PDF files and are capable of containing links as well as graphics and text. They can be easily sent via email or can exist on a web server for people to download. People often list for sale e-books on eBay and other sites all over the internet. But lately there has been a flood of sellers and many of them are trying to sell the same information. Especially in the field of internet marketing, much of the information that is produced today is a rehash of the same ideas just written by a different author.
In the early days, it was quite easy to take a subject you knew something about and write it as an e-book. Then you would list it on eBay and sell it for a hefty sum since there was nothing available on the web. These days however, it's going to take much more creativity in order to command any kind of price that makes it worthwhile selling. It's quite easy to find digital products to sell. The difficult part is getting people to buy them.
So does all this mean that digital products are a think of the past? Not by a long shot. It is going to be necessary to be unique however. The market probably doesn't need another internet marketing e-book that describes how to use Google to make money. Remember, when everyone ends up selling the same thing the price comes close to zero (if it is not given away outright). The downside to this type of business is that there are no barriers to entry. Anyone, anywhere, and at anytime can sell e-books on eBay.
So how do you get around this saturation and actually make money? One idea that many incorporate is to be the lowest priced seller. But over time, someone else will eventually undermine your efforts with an even lower price. This is why the market for digital products like internet marketing, continue to have price reductions on or close to zero dollars.
The best way to handle this situation is to produce your own product. Make sure it is one that nobody (or very few) has covered and offers something that others will find valuable. Again, online marketing is probably saturated unless you have techniques that have never been used before and they are effective. You can research eBay to find what items are selling (they have a Hot Item list). This can give you ideas of things to produce a report about. For instance, if you see that certain types of antiques are selling well on eBay, you could produce a guide that gives readers more information about the items that sold or the time period that the piece is from.
In short, there are still plenty of ideas that will sell well and have little competition when selling digital products. So to answer the question, can you still profit from selling e-books on eBay? I believe the answer is a resounding yes.

Possible Ebay Scam With Zero Feedback Buyer Please Help?
i just sold a brand new call of duty video game bundle on ebay for over 150 dollars and i realized a couple of the people who bid including the winning bidder had 0 feedback. Then when i checked the address of the winning bidder it lists their name and then for the street name and number it just says Jackson and then lists North Chicago IL as the city and state. I obviously cant send an item to an address that doesnt even have a house number or street so im a little worried. Ive been selling on ebay for a couple of months now and ive never had so many people with zero feedback bid on an item of mine and since this was the first electronic item i sold im wondering if this is some kind of scam. I havent recieved payment for the item yet so i would really like to know if there is something going on before i try to send this item out. Thanks for anyone who can help.
100% scam.
There is no buyer.
There is only a scammer trying to steal your electronic item. Any time you post an electronic item, high-end name brand clothing or jewelry for sale, you will receive dozens of scammers trying all sorts different types on scams on you, all those scams have the same end result, you shipping your item to the scammer without the scammer every paying a penny.
The scammer isn't interested in your identity or bank account only in convincing you to ship your possession to him without him sending any real money.
The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses pretending to be "Paypal" saying "kindly send the tracking number and we will release the funds".
Paypal does NOT send such emails, ever. Paypal does NOT have escrow or money holding services like that scammer describes. Paypal does NOT demand you send a tracking number before money is sent. EVER. No exceptions.
Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of being the perfect buyer, great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.
You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information.
Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.
Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.
If you google "yahoo buyer's protection program scam", "fake paypal email scam", "ebay escrow fraud" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near victims of this type of scam.
