Traffic Management that won't cost the Earth!

As James Barnes, Editor of ITS International – the leading magazine for traffic management and urban motility states:

‘Transport is not our biggest single polluter. But is a major one'
- ITS magazine, December 2010

ClearView Traffic, a traffic management company with green credentials of their own, recognises the importance of an eco-friendly ethos.

Through their three divisons – Astucia, Golden River and Count On Us, they deliver a range of traffic data capture products and services to provide traffic engineers, councils and authorities with a vast and variable amount of traffic data. With all that traffic technology on board – whether tangible units or traffic engineers travelling around installing them, it makes sense that they cut carbon emissions when they can.

And that's just what they do. ClearView Traffic was recently recognised by The Sunday Times as one of Britain's Top 60 Green Companies. Their eco-friendly traffic management solutions, ecological approach and work towards helping local authorities meet their environmental targets means more and more clients are turning to ClearView for their traffic data capture, traffic survey and road survey needs.

And why shouldn't they? It's not just ClearView as a whole that integrates green motives. Each discipline within the traffic management group underlines their dedication to integrating road safety and green practices.

Take the Astucia SolarLite solar powered road stud for example – a prime example of an innovatively developed green product. Replacing the retro reflective cat's eyes road studs which rely off the bounce back from a headlight for illumination, the SolarLite solar powered road stud uses natural sunlight to charge and activate the LED light source within.

The world is wasting energy at an unsustainable level. To put it into perspective, Britain's 7.5 million street lamps cost an estimated £520 million a year to run. Solar powered road studs are increasingly being used in streetlight switch off initiatives and on motorways and major routes where street lighting columns would incur significant cost both installation and ongoing energy bills.

SolarLite solar powered road studs aren't just advanced in their green credentials though – they're also provide 10 times greater visibility than conventional cat's eyes road studs and have been proven to reduce accident rates by 70%. On top of all that, SolarLite solar powered road studs are also being used on cycle paths in Bristol and Cambridge.

Golden River, a major brand delivering cutting-edge, reliable traffic data capture products for use in traffic surveys and traffic planning also boast a range of green devices. Take the TPole for instance, Golden River's Solar Powered Traffic Counter. This eco-friendly traffic data collection unit provides Highways Agencies and Authorities with vital traffic data.

The result? Along with GPRS traffic data collection, fewer traffic engineers visit sites, thus, reducing carbon emissions.

Of course, sustainable traffic management would be futile if we didn't all take advantage of more eco-friendly transport methods and greener ways to travel. We can all do our bit to reduce our carbon footprint on Earth. Just check out these ideas below:

 - Considering buying a new car? Don't just opt for your standard gas guzzler. Why not explore getting a hybrid car, biodiesel car, electric car or Smart car? These cars have been specifically designed to be eco-friendly, thus, your conscience stays cleaner and our world stays greener!

- If you're planning a trip that's only a short distance away, why not walk or cycle the route and leave the car in the garage?

- More and more cities are introducing Park and Ride schemes which are not only cost-effective but also help to reduce pollution and smog

- It's common for employees in a workplace to live in similar areas so if you live nearby a fellow colleague, why not start up a car pooling scheme? You'll save on petrol costs as well as saving the environment!

What advertising works for you, besides adsense? Any traffic companies work? What about traffic blazer?

Thanks guys look like there are alot of options out there! I have been writing articles and paying2 to submit to 40,000 and i have seen alot of people using my article! It is a slow process but i do think it will make me money in the long run.

Quite few search engines offer contextual advertising campaigns. The best ones are adsense and yahoo publisher (Y! publisher works only if you are in USA and it is said to be more click-able and therefore more profitable compared to adsense ) . the rest of medium and small search engines offer up to 95% of the PPC price paid by the advertiser but at the end it is less profitable than adsense cause they are not used by the general audience.
My website called biz-tips-spot uses adsense - it works just fine for me. Better than the rest of the alternatives.
Keep in mind, if you use more than one ads service provider the average price per click falls down.
